Speaker: Erin O'Malley, Executive Director, Coalition for Trust in Health & Science
Public trust in healthcare, public health, and biomedical innovation has reached a historic low. While many attribute this shift to the COVID-19 pandemic and social media, distrust is a deeply rooted structural challenge with centuries of history. It is driven by long-standing medical freedom movements, systemic discrimination, and earned mistrust among minoritized communities, further compounded today by tribal identity replacing objective science. This webinar will outline how to build trust in today’s environment by centering patient experience. Attendees will learn macro- and micro-level interventions designed to establish, rebuild, and sustain long-term public trust.
Learning Objectives:
-Describe historical and contemporary factors contributing to distrust in healthcare..
-Explain how centering patient experience can help establish, rebuild, and sustain trust.
-Identify macro- and micro-level interventions that support long-term public trust.
Headliner webinars are complimentary.
