CAVS Certification is intended for healthcare professionals or other individuals with an interest in volunteer leadership. The purpose of CAVS certification is to promote healthcare volunteer services management through the certification of qualified individuals by:
- Recognizing those who meet the CAVS eligibility requirements and pass the examination.
- Encouraging continued personal and professional growth in healthcare volunteer services management.
- Providing a global standard of knowledge for certification, helping employers, the public, and health professionals assess healthcare volunteer services managers.
The CAVS designation is achieved by completing and passing the online CAVS examination.
The July 2025 CAVS exam is offered throughout the month of July and will be scheduled per the candidate's availability. Testing dates will be scheduled through our testing partner Meazure Learning starting in June 2025 and exam dates must be scheduled by June 30, 2025. Additional testing information will be sent from The Credentialing Center after exam registration has been approved.
The application process for the CAVS exam consists of 2 parts:
Step 1: Candidates will register through this event and submit the $325 for the exam fee (which contains a $100 non-refundable application fee). If applicants wish to have their organization submit payment for the exam, choosing the "Bill Me" option will allow an invoice to be generated that can be submitted for payment. Once that payment has been submitted, candidates will receive an email with the 2nd steps of the application process.
Step 2: Within 48 business hours, candidates will receive an email with instructions on how to submit your application and resume. Please ensure that the information submitted on your application is correct and that your First and Last Name match your legal government identification that will be used to access your exam on your scheduled date.
The application deadline for the July 2025 CAVS exam is May 21, 2025.
