CPXP Certification is valid for three years from passing the examination or completing the most recent renewal.
- April CPXP recipients must renew by April 30, three years from examination window. (e.g., April 2025 recipients must renew by April 30, 2028)
To re-certify as a CPXP, professionals must complete 30 PXEs, which could include up to ten hours of relevant CEs (such as related CNE or CME approved courses) over a three-year period from the most recent certification date. PXEs must be earned between the renewal dates (e.g. November 1, 2025 - October 30, 2028), though there is no set requirement to earn a specific amount per year. CPXPs can also use all 30 PXE credits to renew, there is not a requirement for NON-PXE credits.
If fewer than 30 PXEs are completed, re-examination will be required to maintain CPXP certification. CPXPs will need to sit for the exam and pass to retain their designation. If this is the option you need to maintain your designation, please contact our director, Jessica Barker.
Currently we are still in transition from the Patient Experience Institute site to the new Credentialing Center site and PXE credits are still being housed in the PXI portal. To access your transcript for renewal please login here.
